Comments : “When I purchased his book, Lisbon, Yes or No?, yesterday I had planned on it being my reading entertainment for the weekend. The book is so well written that I finished it in one day! The story immediately draws you in, making you want to know what happens next. I think it would make a wonderful screenplay as well.” October 31, 2008 A great Tipperary man and writer... Comments : as I am tracing my husband's family history I am enjoying visiting and learning from afar. The Ryan's left your wonderful land in 1852 and arrived in Moreton Bay in June 1853. 5 families travelled together on the boat "John Fielden" and went to Toowoomba to live. They have a vast number of decendants now covering most states of Australia. I am trying to work out if these fanilies were brothers or cousins and if perhapps any other families travelling on that vessel were married sisters and therefore under another sirname. I shall keep looking and perhapps I may even end up visiting your lovely countryside one day. Glenda

Comments : Have just returned from an overseas trip during which we spent four days in Tipperary in and around Nenagh. Reason for the visit was to establish contact with relations who have a dairy farm at Ardcroney. As luck would have it the weather during our stay was absolutely perfect (no rain at all, crisp sunny days) and we found the whole experience totally satisfying - from the friendly and welcoming people to the splendid countryside and scenery. It was all great but we especially enjoyed our cruise on Lough Derg and the village markets at Terryglass. This was our second trip to Tipperary and I suspect it won't be our last.

Comments : Sheool An Seanadóir Noel Coonan Plean Forbartha Teanga an Teampaill Mhóir 2007 ar son Choiste Forbartha Ghlór na nGael i Seomra Tony Shelley ag Leabharlann an Teampaill Mhóir ar Shráid Phádraig ar an Teampall Mór Dé Máirt an 13ú Márta 2007 nuair a d'oscail sé Seachtain na Gaeilge do Pharóiste an Teampaill Mhóir, Chluain Mhór agus Chill Aeda a bheas ar siúl as seo go dtí Lá 'le Pádraig. Bhí os cionn 35 duine i láthair as measc an phobail agus thaithin an ócáid go mór le gach aon duine. "Tá suim agam sa Ghaeilge agus tá mé buíoch den choiste áitiúil as ucht cuireadh a thabhairt dom an plean teanga a láinseáil thar cheann an phobail" a dúirt An Seadadóir Nollaig ó Cuanáin. "Is mór an ónóir domsa Seachtain na Gaeilge a oscailt sa Teampall Mór i mbliana" a dúirt sé. Dúirt sé go raibh iarracht mhór á dhéanamh ó thús na bliana an Ghaeilge a choimeád beo i réimse siopadóireacht dhátheangach, ranganna oíche, ciorcail comhrá, aifreann trí Ghaeilge, gnó agus ar shráideanna an bhaile é féin, rud a bhí an- tábhachtach go deo. Tugadh bualadh bos mór dó i ndiaidh a chuid óráide an oíche sin. Bhí ionadaithe ó eagraíochtaí éagsúla i láthair. Labhair an Seanadóir i nGaeilge amháin. Tar éis na hócáide thug Brian Lawler cur síos go dátheangach ar stair an chéilí in éirinn.
