Tipperary North Vocational Education Committee (VEC) organises and provides a broad range of adult education programmes including the Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme and more flexible programmes such as Community Education and the Back to Education Initiative.

Youth Reach

Youthreach Roscrea is located in Education Centre in Roscrea. It provides early school leavers (15-20 years) with the knowledge, skills and competencies required to participate fully in society and progress to further education, training and employment. Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme (VTOS)

VTOS is a full-time education programme which was introduced in 1989 and is implemented by VECs throughout the country. The programme provides long-term unemployed people, who are over 21 years of age, with the skills needed to enhance their chances of gaining employment or progressing to further education or training.

Emphasis is placed not only on raising the general education levels of the learners but also on facilitating personal development, preparing and or re-orientating students for the world of work. North Tipperary VEC has two VTOS progammes - in Teach an Léinn, Nenagh and in Coláiste Éile Thurles
