Toomevara, Tipperary: Toomevara is small village located to the north of the Nenagh in Co. Tipperary. Within the village there are two impressive churches, the Roman Catholic Church and The Church of Ireland Church on opposite sides of the main street.
A picnic area is located beyond the village and the area is close to the Devil’s Bit mountain range which has a National Looped Walk worth exploring.

Many of the parishioners in this vibrant community have a keen interest in GAA with a number of people from the parish of Toomevara representing the Tipperary team over the years.  GAA which stands for Gaelic Athletic Association is the national sport of Ireland involving sports such as Hurling, Football and Handball. Hurling and football matches are played in the local GAA pitch throughout the summer season and are well worth attending for first time visitors to the area to get an experience of this authentic Irish sport.
Toomevara village has a choice of local shops, a pharmacy, bars serving food and beverages and a service station.
The village of Toomevara is en-route to nearby Moneygall, Co. Offaly where President of the U.S.A, Barack Obama traced his ancestral roots and paid a visit to the area in 2011.
